Who we are.
Mission
The Suuralairua Library is a non-profit program that seeks to protect the Wayuunaiki language while pursuing sustainable development objectives related to quality education and overcoming poverty. Suuralairua seeks to guarantee and promote the formation of Wayuú young leaders through teaching in different fields of knowledge, reducing illiteracy.
Vision
To train more than 500 Wayuú children and young entrepreneurs in their community by 2022, preserving their cultural heritage and native tongue, hence guaranteeing them access to quality education and seeking strategies that will enable us to improve the quality of life of the community in the search for sustainable development and comprehensive training aimed at community advancement. Likewise, to replicate the project in other indigenous communities in the country, which are suffering similar difficulties.
